Meet Our Team

Senior Pastor

Kyle came to Covenant in 1999 after serving on church staffs and as a pastor in Blountstown, Florida, and Montgomery, Alabama. Since then, he has faithfully served Covenant as Associate Pastor for more than two decades before being named Senior Pastor on August 17, 2022.

Kyle is a graduate of Auburn University and Asbury Theological Seminary.

He has been married to Deandra since 1991 (a detail he requested be included so he doesn’t forget). They have two children, Jordan and Sterling, and are proud grandparents to Brooks and Wells, thanks to Sterling and his wife, Amy.

Outside of ministry, he stays busy as a high school football official and enjoys camping, cooking, spending time with his grandsons, traveling with Deandra, and doting on the family’s Golden Retriever, Gracie, usually in that order, but not always.

Associate Pastor

Rev. Bobbi Lassiter is passionate about connecting spaces to help others intentionally do life together, grow spiritually with one another, and support each other in life’s faith journey. She holds an AA in Elementary Education from Gulf Coast Community College, a BS in Social Sciences from Florida State University, and a Master’s in Youth Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary. During her decade-long ministry career, she has served the communities of St. Andrews UMC, Port St. Joe FUMC, East Mt. Zion UMC, Ozark FUMC, and Christ United in Mobile.

Associate Pastor

Nick Shepherd joined Covenant in the fall of 2021, drawn by a deep love for the local church and a conviction that lives are formed slowly, relationally, and in the presence of God. He married Lauren (Covenant’s Student Director) in May of 2019, and together they share a calling to shepherd others into deeper lives of faith.

Nick earned his BA in Christian Studies and Philosophy from Mississippi College and his MDiv from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is an ordained Deacon and is currently pursuing Elder ordination in the Global Methodist Church.

His passion is to disciple people who long to come fully alive and experience the love of Jesus Christ. He is especially drawn to the work of heart-level formation, helping others awaken to the life God is offering them and learn to walk in it with courage and faithfulness.
