Home Improvement Class

Wednesday, June 16 at 6 pm

Looking for a great way to get involved in local missions but not sure what you have to offer? Well we have the Short Term Summer Group for you! Our Home Improvement class will offer instruction on general home repairs ranging from basic to advanced skills. The number of classes and level of instruction will be tailored to the group that attends. The goal is to equip you to tackle some handy work about the house and hopefully to use those same skills to give back. Did you know that our Home Improvement Ministry is one of the only ministries in our community that builds handicap ramps for low-income clients? The need is great and the waiting list is long. With your help, we can respond more quickly to this urgent need.

Love the Skin You’re In

First Session – Tuesday, June 15 at 6:30 pm
Second Session – Tuesday, June 22 at 6:30 pm

Love the skin you’re in starting today!  It’s never too late to begin to do the right thing!  NEVER!

During the first session, learn about the proper way to take care of your skin (your canvas) so your cosmetics will appear flawless.  Makeup should be an enhancement, not a band-aid or cover up!  We will focus on diet, sleep, changes to your skin as you age; the different stages of life, and how it affects your skin, and how to address your skin concerns.

Participants will need to bring a clean face, a dark washcloth, a headband to keep your hair off your face, a face towel, and their favorite facial moisturizer.

The second session will be all about the proper way to apply makeup.

Grilling 101

Date TBD

This class is for any beginners and/or amateurs who do not have much experience grilling various meats.  We will also discuss how to “brine” leaner white meats (chicken, pork, turkey, etc.) to ensure optimal flavor and avoid over-cooking.  This class is not a debate over which cooking methods are the best (gas, charcoal, propane, electric).  The hope is that you will have more confidence and safely prepare/cook your main dish(es) when you have completed this seminar.

Facilitated by Jamey Green

Date TBD

Join us as we learn basic photography skills.  Bring your cameras, lenses, and manuals.
